Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1, ESV

“I will believe it when I see it.” This is a common saying and mindset that can make faith difficult. God wants us to place our trust in Him, and that trust is no more important than when things are tough. As we walk in the gift of faith that our Lord gives us, He gives us the trust we need, and when we struggle, He desires us to cling to Him. We cling to the promises that God gives us, and He responds with hope. We don’t need to know the how or understand the why, but we are called to the who. Because of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us, we have been given everything. How do we know this? Because Jesus promised us, and He is preparing a place for us. Place your trust in whom we have faith. Jesus Christ.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
