If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25, ESV

How is your walk? God desires us to be in step with Him. He wants our lives to be a witness of the salvation that He has given us. The power of the Holy Spirit is shown through a transformed life. To be in step with the Holy Spirit is to be attentive to His urgings in your life. To be faithful to the nudges of the Holy Spirit is not about the salvation given to us in Christ Jesus but is about our witness in the light of the Gospel. The issue for many is that the desires of this world overcome and devour, leading down a path of hopelessness and despair. As the Holy Spirit works within us, He reveals to us a path that leads to new life and a different way and breaks the bonds of this world. We don’t desire to be distracted from the new life given to us through Christ, so we pray that our lives be faithful to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and that we do not lose sight of our Lord’s promises.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
