*Bang, Bang, Bang*

I hear this, not gunshots, but the pounding of steel against steel. It resonates so loudly into my soul. I hear the grunts as the one is pounding and the moans of the one who is, what's that, those are being pounded into a man's hands and his feet. What an ugly grotesque site. How horrifying, yet it continues. He is beaten and bruised and so, so frail. One puts a sign above his head in three languages it says, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." What a sight! He prays, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do!" What, forgiveness? For those that have done this to him, forgiveness. Now a man comes with an older woman at his side weeping, he says "Here is your mother, here is your son." How strange! Now the thieves that are next to this man, one on each side, begin to bicker. One is mocking this man, Jesus, but the other rebukes the thief and asks that Jesus remember him when he comes into his kingdom and Jesus says, "You will be with me this night in paradise." This cross, paradise? Ugh! Unbelievable. He cries out, "My God, my God why have you forsaken me!" Now I understand, that makes sense, this suffering. But wait he cries out he is thirsty, well, I guess I can give him some of this sour wine, I wouldn't drink it, but better than nothing. What's that he says, "It is finished!"

.....

Imagine the confusion at the cross for those that did not fully understand......
