Revelation 1:17

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not fear; I am the first and the last.”

Revelation 1:17, LSB

When the full majesty of our Lord shines through, how could we stand? When Moses was first confronted by God, his heart went cold because he realized his lack of holiness. Even so, he was not confronted by the full majesty of God until later and had to veil when in the presence of others because the face of Moses shone. Though Jesus walked incarnate with the world, his majesty was still concealed, but the veil was torn, and no longer must we be separated from God. God desires for us to prepare our hearts and seek to stand in His Will in the full knowledge that He will receive those that are His into His glorious presence. The glory of God will shine out and we will fall before Him. For those that belong to our Lord the right hand of peace will be extended and we will be brought into Him when we are judged. For those that do not, it will be eternal separation. Let us be faithful and seek out our Lord’s face in our lives and in Him find our peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
