In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our transgressions, according to the riches of His grace.

Ephesians 1:7, LSB

We mess up, every day! This is most certainly true. Our God forgives. He does so out of mercy and grace not out of obligation. He does so out of His immense love for us as His chosen. There are those who would argue that God is judgmental, narrow, and cruel. “Why would He create us this way if He didn’t want us to be this way?” they cry out. We are fallen, but when Jesus died on the Cross, He sacrificed Himself for us in order to redeem us from our sins. He brought us forgiveness for all of our transgressions. This is the power of our Lord. The well of His forgiveness does not dry up, and we can receive it as long as there is breath in our lungs. No one is beyond redemption. This is the gift that He has given to us, and all we must do is believe and trust in Him; this too, He gifts us. Our Lord is, by nature, a giving God. His blessings flow beyond our understanding. Let us drink them in and let His glory rise in our lives.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
