And Yahweh restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and Yahweh increased all that Job had twofold.

Job 42:10, LSB

After all that Job’s friends did and said during his time of suffering, Job did as God had asked and he prayed for them. He didn’t pray against them or about them but for them. This God calls us to do also. Not that God will restore anything we have lost twofold, except maybe our hearts. In the prayer, we find a path to forgiveness and restoration.  God desires reconciliation. He wants relationships to be restored and past hurts to be put away. God wants us to better know Him and know His love in our lives by showing it to others. Jesus died for our salvation and that salvation is complete. He wants us to always cling to this and make everyone who does not know it aware. In our lives and our struggles, let us not hold onto the hurts, but let us pray for our friends, let us pray for our families, and pray for those who have hurt us. In our prayers, burdens will be lifted, pains will ease, and lives may be won over to the glory of our Lord. Ultimately, it will help us to find His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
