In his days may the righteous flourish, and peace abound, till the moon be no more!

Psalm 72:7, ESV

In comedic skits or shows that portray beauty queens, the most common thing shared by contestants is the desire for world peace. Now, the reality is different, but it highlights a reality in our world, which is a desire for world peace. How is that obtained? Many believe that we can find peace through the removal of weapons or by disallowing certain ideas or types of speech to be shared. Unfortunately, neither of these things will accomplish the desired result because the removal of certain things doesn’t change the heart or make one righteous. Only God can make us righteous, and even then, we are not perfectly righteous, but as we look to and depend on God, the more He works in and through us. Peace begins within us as we seek God and His will in our lives. Know Christ, know peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
