“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

No more pain, no more suffering, no more death. Won’t that be a glorious time! Sin and suffering will no longer be a part of life, but we will be forever in the presence of our Lord. We, as followers of Christ, await this time. This is what we are to focus our lives upon. So much of life can distract us from this reality and we can become overburdened by grief, guilt, and shame. Let this always stand before each of us as believers in the midst of our struggles so that we do not lose hope. We know that the things that we now know will pass away, but the promises of God will stand for eternity. We won’t be sitting playing harps on clouds but celebrating Christ’s glory and never missing any of our loved ones. We will aways do the things which God created us to do to His glory. What a wonderful experience in which we wait and seek to point others to the sure and certain hope that always stands before His chosen. Let that be our peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
