He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.

Psalm 112:7, ESV

Do you worry? Worry is a norm for many in our world. All one needs to do is turn on the news and listen to the next impending disaster – Climate Change, Terrorism, Immigration, the next Pandemic, etc. It seems endless, and it is no wonder that so many seem to be hopeless. Christ desires us to know that with Him, all things will be made right. When we trust in Him, we know that all things will be made right. To stand firm in the faith is not something that comes through external effort but through the Holy Spirit, who gives faith and confidence in the promises that are given by God and God alone. When Jesus was with his disciples, He reminded them that there would be “war and rumors of war” and storms and natural disasters. Let us not worry but live in the confidence of our Lord and his promises.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
