Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1, ESV
I love to do accents and imitate various characters. It has been a fascination of mine for as long as I can remember. I also have learned certain patterns and ways of doing things from my parents and other people who have influenced me in my life. Paul knew that he influenced those whom he taught in Corinth and, in his life, sought to be an imitator of Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ, we are influencers also. As we grow in the faith, we first begin our journey imitating the patterns of those whom we see as living the ideal Christian walk. As we are known as Christians, there will be those who will see us as an example, and it is important that we seek to imitate Christ in our lives also so that our lives may lead others to know Christ. Let your life reflect less of you and more of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
