It is difficult when people do not know God’s desire and calling, and they will often do as they think is right. It would be better for them to keep the Law of God with no insight than to define God by an attribute they don’t fully understand. We hear a lot today, “God is love.” It is true that an attribute of God is His love and His love for His creation, yet many don’t truly understand this attribute and do things contrary to the Law because they believe that this attribute of God supersedes His will or desire. Love is not approval of things that are against the Law of God. If a person is unwilling to abide by God’s Will or attempt to keep God’s Law, how is that showing a love of God? If a person were to act this way with us, would we feel that they love us? No, we would feel quite rejected. When we know the vision of God and listen to His Word, we are kept in line with His Will and live in His grace. Put God in His rightful place, trust in Him, and know His peace and calm control in your life.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
