Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

1 Peter 4:19, ESV

One thing that we, as followers of Christ, know is that if we are faithful in our work of the Gospel, we will know suffering. This is something that many faithful Christians are aware of. We suffer in seeing those whom we love reject Christ. We suffer when those who are against Christ bring harm against the Church. Some seem to believe suffering is because of an error or wrong living. Though suffering shows a wrong, the wrong is from forces outside of Christ when we faithfully do God’s work. As we continue to faithfully serve the Gospel our hearts will know this truth, but we are reminded to stand steadfast in the promises and always be hopeful. Our hope does not come from the world's adoration but from Christ and His promises. We know that our Lord suffered for us, and this is the reality in which we walk in our suffering. In this, we can know the joy and the moments that our Lord provides as He pours upon us His grace. We can walk always in the promises and never lose hope. As we support one another and celebrate the joy of seeing others come to know the grace of our Lord and help one another through the struggles that we face because of the nature of our world, we may know peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
