Give Him the Credit!

Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created.

Psalm 148:5, ESV

How often in our day-to-day living do we feel that we are not receiving the credit we deserve? When we do well at our job, and our work brings success, we like to be acknowledged. If someone else takes credit for something we have done, most of us become angry, and rightfully so. God desires for us to praise Him, also. He wants us to not only come to Him when things are going bad with our wants and our needs, but He wants us to come to Him then, too. God wants our praises in all the good times also. He wants us to keep in focus who He is and what He has done. Sin has caused a Fallen Creation where things break down and tragedies occur and because of this, both those who believe and worship God as well as those who don’t suffer. Both are also blessed because of God’s Creation. Those of us who know Him can pray that all come to know our God and praise Him in all circumstances. Let your life be lived out in praise.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
