This is to continue until we all reach unity in the faith and knowledge of the Son of God, resulting in a mature man with a stature reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:13, EHV
God has the Church in His hands. He has set gifts in all of His chosen to do the work of the ministry. This is what Paul was reminding the people of Ephesus about. So often we can become caught up in a mentality that it all depends upon a single person or a small group, but in reality, it is all of us seeking to do the things we have been called to do to raise one another in the faith. It is not a solo process, but a communal act that occurs when we come together and work with one another utilizing the gifts that God has placed within us as His body. Christ didn’t die to model for us how to be, but to fulfill the promises of God and salvation for us. He taught about the kingdom and the calling of God upon His people. Throughout Scripture we will read how He had compassion, taught us how to live with one another, and how we are to be in prayer. We are not mature, but we are always becoming more in our daily walk and life with our Lord. We are called to continue until the day we are called home in which we will reach that measure and know Christ fully as we come to Him face-to-face. As we journey together, we can know His comfort and live in His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
