In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:6-7, ESV

Have you ever been at a high point in life where you have been active in your faith life and studies only to enter into a period of difficulty? In life we will have periods of testing, and that will come with struggle. It does not mean that God has forgotten you. It does not necessarily mean you are doing something wrong. God desires us to pray in these times and to seek strength from Him. In these times, He is refining us and removing from us the things that distract from our worship of Him. In all times and in all circumstances, let us praise the Lord.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
