And working together with Him, we also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

2 Corinthians 6:1, LSB

God’s grace is the mother’s milk of our faith. It is what is meant to carry us through day to day. It is there to help us in our suffering and to maintain us as we face our shortcomings. It is there for us when we walk with others in their struggles. God’s grace is the sustaining force that keeps us from falling into despair and hopelessness. Paul relied upon the grace of our Lord at all times as he walked in the faith and proclaimed all the glory of our Lord. Because of our Lord’s grace, we can be confident that He hears our prayers and that we are never left alone in our suffering. The deceiver will attack us with the weapons of guilt and shame. We all make mistakes, we all fall short, we all sin. The reality of our nature is that we are not yet perfected but are being refined until we enter into the glory of our Lord. We are called to let go of the things that have no value and cling to the faith given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. In our efforts, we do not labor alone but are always striving together with our fellow brothers and sisters as we seek to bring Christ’s message of hope to all who will hear. This is where we find our peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
