Bearing Us Up

Isaiah 53:11

I made this picture on a cold and fogy morning in a German forrest. I wanted to stay in bed but i couldn,t resist the change to make some pictures from the fog . Whithout warm clothes i jumped on my bike and drove in to the forrest. After some driving around i found this spot with beautifull light. After an hour i came back home with frozen hands but it was worth it.

As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:11, LSB

Everything that we find in the prophets points us to Messiah, the Christ. For the people in captivity in Babylon they awaited a return to Zion and it was fulfilled through a king who let them return and rebuild. For us, who are in captivity of our soul living in a fallen and broken creation, we await the coming of the King and Messiah who will restore all things and let us live under His perfect rule. As we read the Word, we are reminded of the suffering that our Lord felt for our account. He was mocked, beaten, scourged, rejected, and crucified for us. We now are called to trust in Him and hold fast to the faith that He has given us. The promise stands ever before us and we are given the opportunity to tell others that they may too come to know Him. We are not perfect, nor will we ever be. This does not excuse us to sin, but we are forgiven and are given the opportunity to not make the same error again. We can choose to live differently because He has chosen us. As we look to the Cross, we are reminded of our suffering Lord who, in His anguish, cried out for our redemption. In His suffering, we can find our peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
